They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. This is good news in the branding business! Branding your business is all about telling your unique story with and without words.
I recently had the opportunity to help non-profit organization Bounty & Soul concept and design their new logo and capture the essence of their very special organization with a photo shoot. The photo shoot took place at the weekly Bounty & Soul produce distribution at St. James Episcopal Church in Black Mountain, NC.
When you see these photos, you will understand why Kudzu Brands always insists on using original photography to tell brand stories instead of stock photos.
These photos capture the heart and soul of this amazing organization (that provides fresh, healthy food and nutrition classes to those in need) better than any stock photos ever could.
By the way, here’s a few tips for telling your business’s story with film:
1) Be Organic: Capture your team in their most natural and relaxed moments-no posed shots allowed! Are you at your best when brainstorming, working with clients, having a coffee break? Capitalize on your joys!
2) Up Close & Personal: Don’t be afraid to get in close with the camera. The beauty really is in the details. You don’t need the whole scene to tell the whole story.
3) In Your Best Light: You don’t need to invest in fancy lights or take it to the studio. Natural light is best. An SLR camera with adjustable lenses is preferable but, some smart phones offer sharper photos than some point and shoot cameras! While quality photos are a must for effective communication, the camera you use is not as important as keeping the shots interesting and real.
