The Big Idea

The Asheville Downtown Association is a thriving nonprofit organization that actively advocates and supports the greater downtown business community of Asheville. They are the voice of downtown by communicating concerns, advocating for policies, maintaining relationships with city and county officials and staff, and addressing important social issues.

Their primary objectives throughout the year are to offer events, opportunities and support to the downtown businesses that enables them to advance and sustain the entire community.

The Strategy

The Asheville Downtown Association works with Kudzu Brands on a regular basis to provide campaign support for various initiatives. From their Downtown After 5 and Holiday Parade to their newest initiative to help promote the Haywood Street businesses during a massive reconstruction effort by the city, Kudzu has helped provide them ongoing graphic design, strategy, and event management support they needed.

The Impact

Kudzu Brands has helped brand many of the annual events that the Asheville Downtown Association holds including Oktoberfest, Easter on the Green, Downtown After 5, and the Holiday Parade. This consistent brand development for these events continues to make sure that awareness and its correlation to the ADA’s efforts are consistent. Additionally, with specific initiatives like the Haywood Street reconstruction project, Kudzu Brands created assets that brought attention to these businesses and helped them keep their doors open during this process.
